Owning the technical chemistry vocabulary buyers actually search
Challenge
Jaysons ranked well when buyers typed the company name, but most procurement, R&D, and EHS searches happen around technical terms. Queries like 'ammonium hydroxide', 'ammoniacal liquor', 'MSDS SO2', and 'ammonia cylinder' were either ranking deep on page 2 or not ranking at all.
Solution
We produced and optimised long-form pages on ammonia chemistry, safety, MSDS, cylinder sizing, and green ammonia. Each page was structured for the exact intent of the query, with clean on-page semantics, internal linking back to product pages, and schema markup so Google could surface the technical depth.
Results
- 33 fresh top-30 positions across ammonia, sulphur dioxide, and methyl amine queries.
- 7 new keywords now rank #1, including tertiary amine (450/mo), green ammonia production (200/mo), anhydrous ammonia formula (70/mo), and formation of nh3 (100/mo).
- so2 (3,200/mo) entered at #1, putting Jaysons in front of the procurement and EHS audience that historically clicked on encyclopaedia results.
Moving the whole site from page 2 into the top 10
Challenge
Average Google position sat at 12.4, just outside page one. Strong information-intent queries were showing up for the site but appearing below the first scroll, which is where the click-through curve collapses.
Solution
We ranked existing pages by how close they were to the top 10 and how much commercial value the query carried, then rewrote titles, tightened on-page structure, added depth where Google was clearly looking for more, and rebalanced internal linking to push authority to the right URLs.
Results
- Site-wide average Google position improved from 12.4 to 8.7 in six months — page two into the top 10.
- Total search impressions grew from 1.12 million to 1.24 million (+10.9%) in the same window.
- Big position climbs: ammonium hydroxide from #67 to #1 (7,800/mo), ammoniacal liquor from #89 to #1, ammonia solution formula from #46 to #1, and nh3 meaning from #98 to #1.
