Owning the searches engineers and procurement teams actually run
Challenge
Modsonic has built ultrasonic testing equipment for almost four decades, but the queries engineers, students and procurement teams use to learn about NDT and ultrasonic testing were landing on third-party explainers. The site had almost no presence for the top-of-funnel searches that lead into a product evaluation.
Solution
Kerkar Media built an educational content cluster covering NDT methods, types of ultrasonic testing, ultrasonic transducer working, thickness gauge operation, flaw detection guides and probe types. Each piece was internally linked back to the matching product family, with on-page structure and titles tightened for intent.
Results
- A single NDT methods explainer page now holds #1 for non destructive testing methods (450/mo), ndt testing methods (350/mo) and ndt methods (250/mo) — all up from positions 29 to 42.
- The types-of-ultrasonic-testing page captured #1 for ultrasonic testing (900/mo) and ultrasonic test (150/mo).
- Engineers, students and procurement teams who used to land on third-party explainers now find Modsonic on page one.
Climbing into the positions that earn the click
Challenge
Modsonic ranked for important commercial terms like ultrasonic transducer, ultrasonic flaw detector and ultrasonic testing equipment, but most sat between positions 8 and 33. Average position across all search hovered near 9.7, and the catalogue wasn't capturing the click share its 38-year manufacturing track record deserved.
Solution
We sequenced pages by intent-to-effort, tightened title tags, added internal links from category to detail pages, deepened the product copy where it was thin, and improved on-page structure across the catalogue.
Results
- Average position improved from 9.7 to 6.8 across all search.
- Page-one wins: ultrasonic transducer 20 → 5 (800/mo), ultrasonic flaw detector 10 → #1 (250/mo), ultrasonic testing equipment 12 → #1 (200/mo), ultrasonic probe 5 → #1 (150/mo), ut machine price 8 → 4 (150/mo).
- Search impressions grew +20% (13,613 → 16,334) and clicks +9.8% (398 → 437) on a baseline that is more than 90% branded.
